Yangon/Bago/Golden Rock/Mawlamyine/ Yangon (6 days)
Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State, is an attractive port with a ridge of hills on one side and the sea on the other. About 300 km away from Yangon, it can be reached by road and rail. About 34 km from Mawlamyine, Thanbyuzayat, and Allied War memorial Cemetery for the prisoners of war who died in the building of the “Death Railway” across the River Kwai, during world war II.
Day 01 Met at Yangon Airport and taken to Hotel. Yangon -(L,D)
Sightseeing in Yangon in afternoon including Shwedagon Pagoda, Chinatown, the Strand, markets including Bogyoke Aung San Market (Scotts Market), and possibly (option) Twantee (small town W of Yangon reached by ferry). Night at Hotel.
Day 02 Yangon – Bago by Car
Travel by private motor vehicle/s (car) with English speaking guide to Bago (sightseeing in the morning), then proceed to Golden Rock Pagoda. Night at Mountain Top Hotel.
Day 03 Golden Rock – Moulmein
Visit top of Golden Rock Pagoda, then travel in car to Moulmein, with sightseeing of Pha An cave on the way. Night in Moulmein (Mawlamyine) at Ngwe Moe (or Attran) Hotel
Day 04 Moulmein – Thanbyuzayat
Travel by car to Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery and the Burma Railway (including the old joining point of the railway to Ye) at/near Thanbyuzayat, and proceed as far as permitted up the Burma Railway but no further than 55 kilometers from the Burmese end of the Railway (which is 58 km from the Burma–Thailand border). Return to Moulmein (via Kyaikkami if desired). Night in Ngwe Moe (or Attran) Hotel.
Day 05 Moulmein
Sightseeing by car in and around Moulmein, including prison (exterior only), Kwaikthanlan Pagoda and, possibly, Bilu Island. Night in Ngwe Moe (or Attran) Hotel.
Day 06 Moulmein – Yangon by Car
Travel by car back to Yangon. Night at Hotel.
