MINIBREAK GOLDEN ROCK – (4days)
Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda
Popularly known as the Golden Rock
Pagoda and a very popular pilgrimage
destination; Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda
stands on a boulder precariously
perched on the edge of a hill over
1,100 km above sea level. The base
Camp of Kyaikhto is located 160 km
by road from Yangon.
Day 01 Arrival
Yangon (L, D)
You will meet your tour guide at
Yangon International Airport and
arrive at the Hotel after a short
transfer of approximately 20 minutes
from the airport.
The prime
downtown location of your hotel
allows you to explore the busy city
center of Yangon on a walk. The
BODYOKE (SCOTT'S) MARKET, with
hundreds of stores is just a few
minutes away from your hotel (the
market is closed on Monday).
Evening tour
continues to CHAUK HTAT GYI, a huge
reclining Buddha image followed by a
photo stop made at KARAWEIK HALL, a
royal floating barge. An extended
visit to SHWEDAGON PAGODA, one of
the world's most spectacular
religious Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98
meters above its base and is covered
with 60 tons of pure gold. Dinner
with Cultrual Show at Royal Berge,
Karaweik Hall & overnight at Hotel.
Day 02 Yangon –
Golden Rock (B, L, D)
Full day excursion out of Yangon to
Golden rock Via through BAGO (84 km,
1˝ hours). En Route visit of the
Kyaik Ka Wine Monestary, the largest
monestary in towh where thousands of
monk gather morning food there.
After lunch, continue to KIN PUN
'base camp' (110 km - 3˝ hours) and
onward to KYAIKTIYO the Golden Rock,
a huge boulder completely covered by
gold leaves and delicately balanced
on the edge of a cliff. From KIN
PUN, a steep and rough 11 km dirt
road leads to the upper staging
point. A Journey made in open
trucks, which are very crowded. From
the 'upper area', travelers must, at
present, walk the final stage,
approx. 4 km, up steep paths which
ascend some 500m to the GOLDEN ROCK.
As an easier
alternative to walking, visitors can
be carried in dean chairs by four
porters, at an extra cost of approx.
US$ 10.00 p.p. On arrival, watch the
beauty of sunset or dawn at this
important pilgrimage site. Dinner
and overnight at Golden Rock Hotel.
Day 03 Golden
Rock –Bago – Yangon (B, L, D)
In Bago sightseeing includes the
SHWEMAWDAW PAGODA, furthermore the
55m long reclining Buddha called
SHWETHALYAUNG image that is among
the country's most revered and visit
KYAIK PUN PAGODA, famous for its
four giant Buddha.Return to Yangon
through rural landscape of paddy
fields and small villages. Dinner
(to own account) and overnight at
Parkroyal Hotel in Yangon.
Day 04 Transfer
to Airport for Dep flight back to
Bangkok
Important : The region around
kyaiktyo is still undeveloped for
most aspects of tourism. Travel will
endeavor to obtain the best
available accommodation, transport
and facilities for guests, but would
ask for their understanding for any
practical aspects which do not come
up to expectations and for delays or
changes in itinerary. Due to road
conditions it is not recommended to
travel to this region during the
monsoon season (June - September).
